Tried playing some Belle and Sebastian for Charlotte while she’s in the bath, but she said, “this song is boring,” and made me change it.

Now I’m playing Dusty in Memphis, and that seems to be going over better.

Calepin to Tumblr test post

So yeah, just like I say there in the title, posting this to Calepin to see whether ifttt is really going to then pick it up from the atom feed and post it automagically to my Tumblr. We’ll find out I guess. If this works, it might get me to start blogging longer-form (or longer-ish, anyway) posts again. Seems like a lot of cloudiness to go through to get basically the same functionality I used to have from Blosxom. But at least it works the way I want blogging to work — viz., I can write in a text editor, and then get styled HTML output posted to a bloggish site.

I suppose I could just use Calepin full stop, but I already have a Tumblr, so I’d like to keep my posts going there. If this accomplishes the aim of getting myself to publish more copy, I imagine I’ll want to post more images and video as well, but I can just Tumblr straight up for that. So the Calepin will also be public, and if anyone would care to just read that directly they may, but it will feature text posts only and you’d miss anything else I might post to Tumblr. So there.

A little bit more Bunnymen obsession. This is a very different arrangement of this tune than I’ve heard anywhere else. I’m glad they usually play it at the slower tempo, but this is quite nice for a different take, I think. Sort of reminds me of Elvis Costello’s alt-version B-side take on “Town Cryer”.
